A Novel of a Blog...Sorry, not sorry!

Well hello there blog friends, it's time for that much anticipated update. So let me give you a long drawn out recap of my life over the past 2 1/2 weeks...

So if we rewind to two weekends ago we will arrive at Saddleridge. Saddleridge is this hip country style bar that plays a good bit of country music, has a mechanical bull, but also plays your normal weekend bump and grind tunes as well.  I've only been there two times now but each time I've been it's been a really good time. I went this time with 3 of my friends for a girls night. After getting off the wrong exit and taking several wrong turns we finally made it to the bar. The bar is huge and has two dance floors, so naturally we found ourselves at each spot in time to do the Cupid Shuffle...twice. The night ended by my friend Katie being asked to slow dance with some old guy and then pulling a "chin tuck" move to avoid locking lips with the Garth Brooks wannabe. Saturday night, I did the mature, responsible adult thing and chose to stay in and babysit. I babysit for this mom I met at the country club. She had 3 angel daughters and a huge house on the water by my house-- no big deal. The night went well, only hiccup we had was the 3 year old having a mental breakdown because she didn't want to brush her teeth. The mom paid me a good chunk of cash for only a few hours of work. It was a pretty sweet deal. Hope she calls me back soon!

The following week I had a bunch of tests as usual. I had a practical on Electrical Therapy in one of my classes and another standardized patient. Of course for my Electrical Therapy practical my grader was our super hot TA. I get super nervous for these things as it is, but with Lucas as my grader I'm sure my face was beet red! And to make matters worse, my partner Jaclyn, had to apply electrical stimulation to my upper trap. A.K.A my shirt had to come off in front of my teacher with model like looks! I wound up getting a 95 on the practical, so either I looked really good without my shirt on and the TA wants to ask me out on a date.... Or I just knew my stuff for the practical. I'd like to think it was a mixture of both.

On Thursday night last week, a bunch of my classmates decided to go out to celebrate being done with our standardized patients. We went to this bar called New Belmont. It's a pretty hip place in the ghent area of Norfolk. The Thursday night specials were 2 dollars for 2 baby corona's and 5 dollar PBR pitchers. This was bad news for me. It was karaoke night as well so of course my friend Kristin and I decided to sign up. We sang Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much" like superstars.
The night also included me consuming too many beers, receiving a business card from a man telling me to call him, and also finding this claw game that normally holds toys, but this time it held lobsters. Weird. As we were leaving the bar on this night I asked Katie if she would take me to taco bell. A group of guys over heard and yelled "Girl, I'll take you home." I responded to him with "Okay, but can we go to taco bell first?" Don't worry, I decided to go to taco bell with my friends instead, but that just goes to show the things I would do for a cheesy gordita crunch!

Friday 3 of my best friends from home came to visit! Friday we were supposed to just kinda have a chill night, go to a mexican restaurant and then come home and watch a movie. My parents were in VA beach for the weekend so they met us at La Herradurra for dinner. One jumbo margarita later, we were all feeling pretty good. My mom went to the hotel with a headache and the rest of us decided going out was a much better idea than a movie. Just like the classy young professionals we are, we proceeded to chug a Joose and pass a bottle of Captain Morgan's around in my parked car before heading into the bar. We went to Mojo Bones first...

After here Natty found 5 dollars in the 7-11 parking lot as we walked to the next bar called the Edge. At the Edge Natty found 20 more dollars in the parking lot. I'd say she made out pretty well. We finally left the edge at last call and stumbled our way back to my house, as I hiccuped the whole way home. We made a pot of mac n cheese and went to bed. Sounds like the dinner and a movie night we planned doesn't it?
We awoke the next morning not having a terrible hang over and I attempted to show my friends around campus. They also let me try some e-stim on them in my living room. Some were better patients than others. They were brave though as they let me manipulate their finger flexors, quadriceps, and ankle flexors without their control at all. My mom also let me e-stim her wrist that was bothering her and she told me it felt better afterwards :) The rest of the night was consumed by preparations for the Fall PT Formal. The night was a blast. Thanks to my mother, an entire box of Franzia sunset blush was consumed before we made it to the bar that the formal was held at. We played quite a few rounds of "slap the bag" (if you don't know what this game is you may be missing out) and then headed to Granby St. We were dressed to impressed and danced up a storm. The night was fun but rather uneventful. I danced with a giant all night and only managed to fall one time (Thanks Steven for picking me up). I also whipped my hair around like it's never been whipped before to "I Whip My Hair" when it came on at the bar. All around a great night.

Sunday was spent recovering and studying for my Neuroscience test I had yesterday. It kicked my butt, but at least I have the midnight showing of Harry Potter on Thursday to look forward to. I'm going to wear my Harry Potter t-shirt and attempt to make a pair of glasses to wear.

I think that's about all for now, I'll try to make my life less exciting so I won't write so much next time haha. Oh, after I bombed my neuro test my friends Kristin and Renee decided to make me a profile on match.com Be looking forward to some updates on that story. Who knows maybe you'll see my face on the next match.com commercials!

Yours,
KK
