So it's Day 9 of my "diet"... if we can really call it that.
It's been just over a week and I've already given up on my online food and exercise logs. I think they're really helpful, but it's a little time consuming. It'd be nice if I could just log my food in on my phone as I eat throughout the day, but unfortunately I lack that technology... and it definitely would not be cool for my classmates to see me logging in my food calories while I'm sitting in class all day!
On a more positive note, while I did not log my food intake today, I did eat pretty well if I do say so myself! I even cooked a meal too! Breakfast this morning consisted of dannon light & fit vanilla yogurt and a strawberry cereal bar. Stopped at 7-11 for coffee before class and this time I only used 2 creams and 2 splenda! This is a step down from my usual 3 creams...I'm taking pride in my small victories. Lunch was a quickie because I had to go straight from class to work. So I had a peanut butter sandwich on whole grain bread and a golden delicious apple. Had one chewy bar for a snack later in the day. This chocolate chip & peanut butter one was only 100 calories and it was pretty yummy!
For dinner, I made some healthy tacos! The meat was extra lean ground turkey and I just used a little bit of chili powder for the seasoning. I used two small whole wheat tortillas and stuffed them with the meat, black beans, brown rice, lettuce, corn, and salsa. Yummm!! My portions were kept small but it was actually one of the most filling meals I've had in awhile... it's nice to go to bed not feeling hungry for a change!
Last weekend, I got these freeze pops as an impulse buy. They're soda flavored and pretty yummy! I had a rootbeer flavored freeze pop for dessert tonight and it was only 30 calories. It satisfied my sweet tooth for now.
My quads feel like jello today after the cardio strength fitness class I took yesterday. I swear we did close to 200 squats throughout the 60 minute class. I definitely can't squat like I used to last spring, but I need the work. My thunder thighs are becoming extra thunderous. Hopefully, this pain and soreness is a sign that my muscles are working and repairing and not actually a sign that I'm getting old and jiggly.
After work today, I went for a 30 minute run. I just don't know how people do it. I try to convince myself that I enjoy running and I actually go for jogs quite frequently, but the truth is... I just don't like it. I mean, after the 3rd minute of my run today I was about ready to turn around and go home. I ran for 30 minutes outside and probably only hit about 3 and a half miles. Imagine running a marathon. 26 miles of non-stop running??? No thank you! Maybe one day my feelings about running will change. Each time I lace up my sneakers to go for a jog I hope for that "runner's high" people talk. It never does comes. I don't know if it ever will. So instead of going for a nice, relaxing 30 minute jog I always end up going for a dreadful, 30 minute run through hell.
In other exciting news not dealing with my terrible self image... I almost had a head on collision with another biker on my way to class. Luckily, my swift reflexes allowed me to avoid it. Also, my date with asian lover that was supposed to happen tomorrow has been postponed until further notice.
That's all my updates for now.
Just over 6 weeks until the wedding... At this rate, I just hope I don't end up fatter after this training plan.
Your favorite blogger,
Kristi
P.S. This morning I weighed in at 150 lbs. Let's see what tomorrow brings!
